Gluten Free in Wayne, PA -- Christophers

I had a friend in for the night and wanted to go somewhere fun, lively, and a well-rounded menu that would be sure to please everyone. I did a little research and found that Christophers seemed to be ranked rather well. Their menu is diverse- ranging from classic pasta dishes to nachos.

The majority of the menu is already gluten free, or simply needs a minor adjustment or two. But, what makes Christophers stand out from the remaining restaurants, is that they carry gluten free buns, chicken fingers, bread basket, etc.

Verdict: I will definitely be attending again!! :D

Gluten Free at 333 Belrose bar & Grill

Need I say more? I have been bragging about my dinner, the service, the atmosphere of 333 Belrose Bar & Grill for days!

The salmon was cooked to perfection. The outside had a bit of a crunch to it, while the inside remained juicy and full of flavor. The salmon was served over the most delicious quinoa I have ever had. I can't wait to go back again!

Gluten Free Dinner Under 30 Part 4

Deconstructed Nachos!

This meal is rather simple (And yes, it involves grass-fed beef again. After all, my dad did purchase the entire cow)

- Grass-fed beef
- Chili Powder
- Pinto Beans
- Salsa (I say, "the hotter, the better")
- Sour cream (For those who want their dairy)
- Shredded Cheese (For those who want their dairy)
- Tortilla Chips
- Lentil Dip
- Roasted Vegetables.

My dad found these chips. He was so proud of himself - he caught on that the bag reads "Gluten Free" :D My dad is so precious!
Trader Joe's Lentil Dip. This dip was a great hit!

Uh! That's what this past week felt like. It was the end of me! I had put in close to 70 hours at work and I hadn't had a weekend off since before Christmas! I attempted to sleep in (for once) on Saturday, but was obnoxiously woken up- only fair- I suppose I should, and would have normally been, awake at that point in time. Regardless, I was woken up, which started the stir to my emotional breakdown. Then, I got myself motivated just enough to want to leave my ever so comfortable and toasty warm bed, to see the yucky mess that mother nature had left for us all to enjoy. Here is a bit of advice for you mother nature, next time, no present, is better than a crappy unwanted present :D -- So keep the snow / icy mess to your self. It's instances like these, that make selfishness perfectly acceptable.
Moving on, I was then notified by my boss, asking when and how many hours I would be putting in this week…

Sad news for the Gluten Free

It is with great regret that I post today, to inform you all that the Food For All Market, located in Germantown, PA is closing.

For those of you that never had the opportunity to visit, the company was 100% gluten free and catered to many other allergies as well. The company carried specialty allergy free items, most of which were locally sourced, had their own small kitchen, and offered a number of classes for the nutrition conscious shoppers.

We are sad to see the company go- it's a shame!

Gluten Free Dinner Under 30 Part 3

It's steak fajita night!

The problem with steak is that people tend to over-cook it and over-season it. Steak is a beautiful piece of meat- less is more in this case.

I simply pulled the grass-fed steaks out of the freezer before leaving for work. Once I got home all I had left to do was turn the Broiler on high and place the steaks on the bottom rack. 6 minutes later you flip them for another 6 minutes. Then move the steaks to the top rack for another couple minutes and you are done. I added a couple of spices to make it a bit more fajita like and of course some lemon juice.

Top your fajita however you like. My perfect fajita includes some EXTREMELY HOT salsa, fresh green peppers, roasted onion and mushrooms, and fresh lime-juiced tomatoes, on top of a Trader Joe's brown rice wrap. Yum!

The brown rice wrap was a nice treat from my sister. I had only ever had corn wraps prior, and while the brown rice are no easier to wrap than the corn, the flavor is much better, and the tex…

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!
Last night was a low key night for myself.  I had the little sister in the area with me and she wasn't feeling to awesome - recovering from a cold/sinuses. We had a great night. After driving into the Philadelphia area, we unloaded the car, unpacked, and then headed out for some shopping - or should I say a trip to Walmart. I cannot wait until the Wegmans is finished and open this spring! :D

Anyhow, we made some dinner, baked dessert, created a couple wishlist/predictions and watched a movie. It was a great night! Then today we met up with Fran (the oldest) for breakfast and the mummers parade! It was a great time, and we even brought Nora (the new baby Kitten) in with us.

My 2012 Year Predictions
1. Get a promotion (Just started my position, but I would really like to have a promotion by this time next year)
2. Have more money into my savings account (Going to try the whole savings thing- we will see how well that works out while paying back some hefty student loan…
